Hi, my name is Eva and I am a qualified Acupressure Practitioner for both humans and animals.

My specialty animals are horses and dogs, but I also have experience with cats and other animals.

What is Acupressure? Acupressure is a safe, non-invasive and effective modality which traces it's roots back to ancient China. It shares the rich theory, background and history with Acupuncture. By activating certain points on the body, nerves and pathways can be stimulated throughout the body, inducing relaxation and calm and encouraging the body back to balance.

In Acupressure, the practitioner uses light finger pressure instead of needles to activate the points. This is applied to a sequence of points that is uniquely tailored to the client to address presenting imbalances. By encouraging healthy Blood and Chi (Energy) flow, Acupressure helps to restore balance and health to the physical, emotional and spiritual body.

About Me

My journey working in alternative healing started in 2021, when I became interested in animal massage. A whole new world opened up to me as I discovered the abundant range of alternative therapies, and I was immediately fascinated by the expansive theories of Chinese medicine.

I became fascinated in Acupressure due to the way it treats the body as a whole, and how each part of the physical and emotional body is intrinsically interconnected with everything else. I particularly wished to learn it to help my horse Piper, who was struggling with pain at the time, and hated touch in most areas of her body. Through acupressure, I could touch points on her legs to bring about relaxation and release through parts of her body I was unable to touch!

I began training in Five Element Acupressure in 2022 and completed my animal training with Susan Tenney of Elemental Acupressure. I find that animals have an innate connection to this work, and aim to bring my animal clients feelings of calm, wellness and vitality.

After trying out some Acupressure points on friends and family, I soon realised how much I enjoyed making people feel better, too! I finished my study in human acupressure with John Kirkwood of the Acupressure Centre.

No matter whether a person is seeking help for mental health, chronic pain, digestion, hormonal issues or something else, I aim to bring balance to my clients by treating the source of their complaint, not just the symptoms; in turn awakening a sense of wellness, relaxation and vitality in the body, mind and spirit.

Testimonials

"I have found Eva Paxton to be a great acupressurist. I had previous experience of acupuncture, which I find beneficial, but not of acupressure. Eva’s treatments have assisted me with pain management due to inflammation and release of stress tension and stress headaches. Very professional with a remarkably intuitive touch. I’m a convert to acupressure and would highly recommend Eva."

Tymiqua

Client

"My sessions with Eva have been highly beneficial for my health and wellbeing. I sought out acupressure to assist my breathing issues and back pain, as well as relieve my stress, and was strongly satisfied with the results of their work.

During my sessions, Eva was highly skilled and professional, providing me with reassurance that I was in the right hands. Her calm manner helped me relax and become more in tune with my body, which helped with the therapy session and my own wellbeing. I was impressed with her insight and knowledge. She talked me through the sessions, discussing what she had done, why, and the benefits it would provide. Since my sessions I have felt a significant positive difference in my wellbeing.

I definitely recommend coming in for a few sessions if you are struggling with similar issues or interested in trying out acupressure healing."

Frequently Asked Questions

Acupressure stems from the same rich theory and history as Acupuncture. However, instead of needles, the practitioner uses light finger pressure. This is applied to a sequence of points that is uniquely tailored to you, the client, to address presenting imbalances.

By encouraging healthy Blood and Chi (Energy) flow, Acupressure helps to restore balance and health to the physical, emotional and spiritual body.

There is no pain or discomfort experienced in a session. Clients remain full clothed, leaving with symptoms alleviated and a pathway to healing activated.

Yes, absolutely.

Acupressure works by balancing the energy in the body and increasing blood flow. It can also help to reduce pain. I often see clients for back pain and hip pain. I have been told many times by happy clients how their pain has decreased and their mobility has increased following a session. You can expect to feel relief from session one, but a treatment plan is recommended to ensure prolonged benefit.

It absolutely can!

Relieving stress and anxiety using acupressure is one of my passions.

Acupressure works by balancing the body's energy (chi) and ensuring the free flow of chi throughout the body. It also helps to increase blood flow, relaxes the body and mind and grounds the spirit.

I often see clients for stress and anxiety and I am repeatedly told by my clients how grounded they feel following a session.

You will lie on a massage table fully clothed.

I will begin by asking your symptoms. Then I will take your pulses, found at the wrists, the pulses are recognised by Acupressure to inform practitioners of the energy available in the organ systems, and hence the body. With this information, I am able to put together a treatment plan unique to you that is best suited to balancing your energy and helping to relieve your symptoms.

To conduct the treatment session, I will hold pairs of Acupressure points on the body, until the stuck energy is released. Using a sequence of these points, energy will flow throughout your body, and excess energy will move to areas of deficiency, creating balance with the body. You may or may not be able to feel the energy flowing within your body, but you will likely feel relaxed and refreshed as the session goes on.

If your symptoms are recent, it may be easier to bring your body back into balance. However, if you have held onto them for a long time, then a return to health can take longer. Regardless of what healing you may be seeking, you can expect to feel some benefit from the first one or two sessions.

By working to bring balance to the energy in the body, instead of treating the symptoms, Acupressure can bring balance to the mind, body and spirit all at once.
